Our Approach

E -opala, Inc. is Hawaii’s first and only consumer and industry level e-waste demanufacturing plant. We retrieve, reuse, and recycle electronic products to reduce waste, preserve the environment and fund IT accessibility to underprivileged communities.

Our Story

Our founder, who came from a hippy commune background, had the “reuse everything” mentality instilled into him from his childhood. He was inspired to do a recycling project when realizing that there was no convenient way to recycle electronics in Hawaii. Over the two years it took to get a permit from the state of Hawaii, the company expanded from electronic recycling to a company that also realized the need to give back to the community. As a result, e-opala started a program to donate fixed computers, printers, and monitors to people in need. E-opala, as the first and only company in the state of Hawaii with an electronic recycling permit feels a strong commitment to the environment and the local community.

Meet the Team

Most of your team were homeless or living on the streets. Jason and e-opala took them in and offered them a 2nd chance and an opportunity to learn new skills and as well as change for employment.
